Palude di Brivio is a nature reserve located a few kilometres away from the small rural village of Campsirago. The area is in the European list of Community Important Sites for the conservation of both fauna and flora. Unfortunately the nature reserve is now threatened by urbanisation which is why, for a few years now, Legambiente Lecco has been commissioned by the administration of the Park to maintain the particularly fragile equilibrium of the area. Volunteers will be involved in cleaning footpaths and green areas in order to preserve and protect both the fauna and flora.

There are varities of works in this project. The main work is an environmental work in association with Saradadevi Community Forest Group. Volunteers will work together with the local people at the forest to help in plantation, taking care of trees, making fire lines, removing unnecessary grass etc. We have started to build a community house which will used by the local people as their meeting place. Volunteers also will be involved in the seasonal agricultural work to help to plant and harvest crops.

This project has been running for over 14 years with the help of hundreds of volunteers from all over the world. It is the source of many beautiful stories. The aim of the project is to protect the marine turtles working in tight collaboration with the local population who lives in Colola Town or as they say “the place where dreams come true”. Volunteers will learn the methods of protecting turtles which helps to ensure their survival for future generations.

The MTV projects were born of the necessity to involve international volunteers in volunteer projects in Peru to work together with local youngsters. Peru Sonqoykipi started to organize these projects in 2004 with excellent results. Volunteers in these projects will have the chance to interact with many local communities and will be working closely with Peruvian young people. This is an experience about organizing, working and making at the same time long lasting friendships by helping communities.

This project had been organized in Peru for the last 8 years. The aim of this project is to improve the education and widen the growing opportunities for the Peruvian children who live in an orphanage called Casa Urpi. There are approximately 48 boys in the orphanage with ages ranging from 5-17 years old. The children at the orphanage suffer from, violence in the home, drug and/or alcohol abuse by parents or imprisonment of their parents.

FFN started to build a multi-purpose building here in 2002. Now this building construction work is at its final stage. We have taken it as a model project. It will be a house built by volunteers. We are also developing an attractive garden around the building. Aswell volunteers will help in day-to-day work in the park i.e. gardening, clearing of picnic spots and feeding to animals in mini zoo aswell as other similar tasks.

Spanish language course will offer 3 hours daily intensive theoretical and practical tuition with professional teachers five days a week. Classes are a good chance to learn more about Mexican culture and meet other volunteers before starting their projects.

The main work of this project is to help to build more facilities in Asha Orphanage Home. This year volunteers will help to make a wall and playground for orphanage home children.
