Volunteers will be teaching computing at a school. Placement durations are 2-5 months, with placements beginning the first of the month. Volunteers will get an opportunity to participate in a 3 days orientation seminar at our training center in Kathmandu. The seminar aims to provide' basic knowledge to participants on Education in Nepal, details about the project school, Does and Don’ts' issues, Nepali language, culture, dresses, food etc. The orientation seminar will start on the first Monday of each month. Saturday is holiday and Friday is half-holiday in Nepal.

English Teaching

Orphanage Child Care

Volunteers will be helping out with child care at an orphanage. Volunteers will get an opportunity to participate in a 3 days orientation seminar at our training center in Kathmandu. The seminar aims to provide basic knowledge to participants on street children, 'Does and Don’ts' issues, Nepali language, culture, dresses, food etc. The orientation seminar will start on the first Monday of each month. Nepalese schools open at 10am and close at 4pm. Volunteers will take 3-5 classes each days. Each class lasts 45 minutes. Saturdas are a holiday and Friday is a half-holiday in Nepal.

Semoya Camp 2

Borobudur World Heritage Camp

Volunteers will help train young guardians for the Borobudur World Heritage Site as well as generally raising awareness.

Taking care of children at a local orphanage

Bo De is a Buddhism pagoda, where there is an orphanage set up by monks to support 130 kids. Volunteers will work with the children and help them with their studies. The group will also play games and organize outdoor activities for the children.

Hai Duong Welfare Centre

Volunteers will interact with children by organizing games and teaching them drawing, dancing and singing skills as well. The children have additional support needs. Working time starts around 8.30, until 11 in the morning and around 1.30 until 4.30 in the afternoon. In the evening, volunteers will join intercultural lessons such as Vietnamese lessons, and studying.

Youth House

Volunteers will support the children to study. Main duties will include teaching basic English, participating in games and activities and setting an example of good behavior. There will also be an element of cleaning on this project.

Working with kids in a local village

SOS Village is an school which houses orphaned children. Volunteers will be helping the teachers with classes and will also take English classes on their own. The project is also designed to give the children an insight into other cultures and discover new topics of interest.

Teaching in a school

Volunteers will be teaching in a primary school in Ishagamu. The main roles the group will undertake include: Teaching basic english, mathematics and science. There will also be the chance to take part in sports activities.
